Rain does not cancel the beauty of a wedding. It only becomes difficult when no one knows what is changing and who is making the decision.
Prepare a real alternative
If the ceremony, cocktail party or meal is outside, check in advance what covered space is available, how many guests will fit and how long the move will take. A tent may be an option, but needs planning for flooring, access, lighting and set-up. Talk to the venue and decorator about both options.
Determine the moment of decision
Don't leave the change to the last minute. Agree who follows the forecast, who confirms the chosen option and until what time the vendors can adapt the installation. Photographers can prepare covered seating for portraits, and the sound crew can check equipment protection.
Think about the comfort of your guests
Access between parking and the venue, umbrellas, waiting areas and appropriate lawn footwear can matter more than the perfect setting. A short message delivered in time to the guests reduces confusion.
With a clear plan, a summer rain can become just a detail of the story. You stay present in your day; someone on the team is in charge of changing the plan.
